Wondering how to add a doggie door or cat door to a screen door? These screen mounted pet door adapters enable a Pride Pet Door to be installed in a screen frame up to a ½ inches thickness. This does not include the pet door or cat flap. If you need a Pride Pet Door and Adapter you can purchase bothhere. Available in four pet door sizes, this pet door adapter is the sturdiest way to support a screen door for larger, more active dogs. It is supported by the screen framing on two sides, ensuring stability.
Please Note:
The Pride pet adapter is intended to fit in a screen frame no thicker than 1/2". If your screen frame is thicker than this, you will need to cut off one leg of the U-shape flange with a table or jig saw creating a L-shape, allowing you to screw the pet door onto your screen door frame.
Prior to installing a pet door screen door adapter, check the clearance needed to open the screen. The Pride Pet Door locking cover frame will protrude about ½" from the front of the interior frame. If the screen is next to the door, that track could potentially interfere with fully opening the screen. If the locking cover does interfere with opening the screen door all the way, the locking cover tracks can be removed by drilling out the rivets that hold it.
