How do you lock a dog door with a sliding glass door?
Option 1:  The C-Clamp lock has a tool-free installation and yet is very effective in locking a sliding glass door or window against a panel pet door for security. These are often used for window security apart from their use with pet doors. All you need to do is place it on the flange of the track and tighten the screw to secure the lock in place.

Option 2:  The Foot Actuated Deadbolt lock which has a narrow, minimum design profile.  It screws on the edge of your sliding glass and you drill a hole in the bottom frame of the fixed window panel.  A pin extends into the hole to lock the slider and easily retracts when you want to open the sliding glass door.  If your sliding glass door slides on the outside of the fixed panel, you will screw this lock into the edge of the fixed panel and drill a hole in the bottom frame of the sliding glass door.

Another tool-free option is the Wedgit Charley Bar.
